Thigh Liposuction
Walk Away with Thinner Thighs
With liposuction of the thighs, you walk out of the liposuction clinic with new, smaller thighs in just a couple of hours, with none of the hassle and work that come with dieting and exercise.
Flabby thighs are a source of frustration for many women. Liposuction permanently removes fat from your inner and outer thighs, and creates shapely, younger-looking legs you've always wanted. The process is simple:
- Liposculpture of the thighs is performed in an office or clinic setting under local anesthesia with some sedation.
- The surgeon uses a laser to gently melt the fat directly under the skin of the thighs and to encourage skin tightening.
- Your surgeon places small incisions to begin the suctioning process with a tiny cannula-about the width of a cooked spaghetti noodle.
- He or she uses slow, gentle movements to remove the fat, resulting in limited pain, fewer bruises and a rapid recovery for you.
- The procedure lasts one to two hours.
The results are forever: Once fat cells are removed, they do not grow back. However, because not all fat cells are removed, if you gain weight in the future, your remaining fat cells will enlarge. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle ensures the greatest success after thigh liposuction.

FAQs
Why choose thigh liposuction?
Are you tired of feeling your legs brush up against each other when you walk? Are you self-conscious of saddlebags and flabby thighs? You have tried diet and exercise, but that fat around your thighs remains firmly entrenched. Laser lipo reduces the circumference of the thighs, smooths out lumps and restores natural body proportions. You'll have better fitting clothes, improved confidence, tighter skin and a more youthful appearance.
Am I a good candidate for thigh liposuction?
Laser lipo of the thighs is a safe procedure for most women who have a high accumulation of fatty deposits on the inner or outer thighs. If you can pinch more than a quarter inch of fat from your upper leg, thigh liposuction should improve your contours. Anyone who has had a gastric bypass or has lost over 100 pounds might need to take extra precautions and consider skin-tightening procedures for loose skin. Men are rarely good candidates for this procedure because they don't normally accumulate fat around the thighs.
Are inner thigh and outer thigh liposuction always done together, or can I choose only one?
You can choose to have liposuction on the inner or outer thighs, or both. Most women choose to have both areas treated.
Will a thigh reduction get rid of my cellulite?
It is possible. Cellulite deposits are determined by each person's individual genetics-even young, thin women can have cellulite. Although some patients report an improvement in cellulite deposits, liposculpture of the thigh will not always eliminate cellulite.
Will I have any scars or sagging skin after thigh liposuction?
Tumescent liposuction of the thighs leaves only a couple of small incision sites, each only about 3mm wide. The puncture sites naturally close within a day or two, fading into the natural color of the surrounding skin. Scarring is rare.
Laser lipo is designed to promote skin tightening and to restore collagen. Anyone under the age of 60 with good skin tone will generally not have sagging skin and will see an improvement in skin tone and firmness. Older patients or those who have experienced dramatic weight loss might experience sagging or lax skin.
What are the post-op procedures for thigh liposuction?
Patients generally experience only mild discomfort after the procedure. You will be able walk immediately, enjoy light to medium activities and return to work in a day or two. Some patients experience mild bruising and swelling. A compression garment similar to bike shorts is worn for a few days and nights and then at least eight hours a day for two weeks.
Good results are visible within three to four weeks; final results are seen within six months. While it does take a while for the swelling to subside, there is minimal to no pain involved. The most common discomfort patients experience is mild soreness, similar to the muscle ache that accompanies strenuous exercise.
